About Me

Hi! I’m Sarah, a Canadian freelance proofreader and copy editor. I love working with publishers and authors to polish and perfect their projects.

I’ve been addicted to reading and writing for as long as I can remember. Ever since I was a child, I’ve dreamed of writing in every genre and reading every book I could get my hands on. Now, I work as a freelance proofreader and copy editor, helping publishers and authors strengthen and polish their projects. My primary focus is on academic, university- and college-level texts across a wide range of subjects. My specialties include the social sciences, humanities, education, and Indigenous studies.

I offer help with various stages of the editing process, including copy editing and proofreading. I also offer additional services such as permissions research and supplement (test bank and PowerPoint) creation and editing. Please contact me to learn more about what I offer.

I graduated in 2021 from the University of Toronto with a degree in Classical Civilizations, with minors in Latin and Writing and Rhetoric. I’ve studied editing at U of T and Toronto Metropolitan University, and worked in-house as an editorial assistant at Grey House Publishing for over a year. I’ve been a full-time freelance editor since June 2023, and I’m truly passionate about what I do. Working in academic editing has allowed me to read books across a wide range of subjects, from criminology to early math education, and I’m so grateful for all of the interesting things I’ve learned and all of the amazing books I’ve had the privilege to read as part of my career.

On a more personal note, here’s a little more about me: I love literary fiction and fantasy, creating art in a wide variety of media, doing yoga, spending time in nature, organizing my bookshelves, learning about every subject under the sun, and cooking and eating delicious vegan food.
